Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast (ADS-B) - L-3

Shortcut ADS-B stands for Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast. It is an equipment used for determining an aircraft’s location. Therefore it doesn’t serve a purpose of communication between pilots, but only between aircraft’s systems. For example, with a help of ADS-B, ATC‘s can easily navigate airplanes throughout the skies much more accurately. This system, working side by side with a GPS can determine an aircraft’s location with high level of accuracy. Besides location, it also provides a number of weather informations.
